I am attempting to reconcile December and the beginning balance is off by $500+

I cannot figure it out. Last month was fine. The only I did was void a lost check but that amount was only $180..... thoughts???

Hard to help you based on the info you provided.
However you should take the amount that you believe the amount that the account is off by and:
1) first add the amount of the voided check to it
2) then subtract the amount of the voided check from it.
You should then look for those two amounts in the transactions that occurred since your last reconciliation (look for the amounts on both the bank statement AND in your Quicken register/account). There is a chance that you'll find your problem there.
