Budget Categories

I have just updated my budget for the first time. The budget engine in New Quicken is a rolling budget (not necessarily year by year) which I think might be better, but the one slightly annoying thing that this means is that you cannot change which categories you use in your budget in different years as they "rollover" each year. I guess you could still do a new budget each year, perhaps that is what is intended? Anyone have any experience or suggestions with this?

Yes, if you want to use distinctly different categories for different years, you would have to create a new budget.
You can always Duplicate the current budget so that you don't have to recreate it from scratch as you would with a new budget.5

Thanks. I wanted to eliminate budget lines like my car payment when it was paid off, or income from a source that was no longer active, etc. I guess I get to choose either seeing the old accounts in the budget or making new budgets and not seeing the budget over longer (and rolling) periods.0
