Can I upgrade Q2016 Home and Business to Q2018 Deluxe?
Geoff Stuart
Is there a compatibility issue if I upgrade from an H&B product to Deluxe? I don;t need the H&B features and want to minimize my cost.

We may access the Quicken 2016 data files with the subscription product. If you use the Deluxe edition, the Home and Business features will not be functional but the data persists.

You can easily "upgrade" your version and "downgrade" to a version with less features with no loss of data. You will of course lose access to the H&B features.
Read this article which explains how the pricing works:

BUT if you are moving from 2016 to th new subscription, the main reason for doing so is because you want to be able to download data from FIs/Banks. But you have been without that ability with the 2016 version for almost a year. So why "upgrade"?

Hi @"
"Geoff Stuart" ,
No, you can't upgrade to Quicken 2018 Deluxe, because it is no longer sold. If someone gives you a copy, it would be Quicken 2020 Deluxe, after installation.
See this for comparison:
