Using Quicken Premier for Windows, version R24.11
The software does show the categorization field for any of my brokerage, IRA, or 401k accounts. How do I get this to appear? Help says it will appear based on transaction type. I have numerous transactions coded as "Reinvesting Dividend", "Bought", "Sold", etc. Help!

A category field in an investment account is only applicable for certain transactions - MiscInc, MiscExp, Checks written and maybe one or two more. For other transactions (Buys, Sells, ReinvDiv, etc.), the applicable system category (like _Div) will appear or be used in applicable reports and presentations but still will not appear in the account transaction list.
What more specifically are you trying to see and/or find?1 -
Category will only appear for appropriate transaction types. The types you indicated do not have categories. Mostly cash expenses will show a category. What categories are you looking for?
