Cannot get my Mac to recognize new installation

I just paid for a new version of Quicken for Mac. It says I'm good until January 2021. However, the computer will not recognize the new version and asks for me to renew so I can proceed. I am not going to purchase the software twice. What have I not done?

    Thanks for your help. Not long after I posted the question it cooperated and somehow it loaded and I'm up and running.

    IIRC, you can have more than one version (year) running on the Mac, are you sure that you are starting the correct one?
