deleting hidden payees. Quicken Version Version 5.14.3 (Build 514.31897.100) macOS 10.14.6

I am REALLY frustrated. I do NOT use Quicken bill pay, I am talking about payees you can edit from the pull down menu when you create a new transaction. When I choose "edit payees", I cannot delete a hidden payee. I get an error message:
The selected payee can’t be deleted.
The “whatever payee.” payee is being used by transactions and is already marked hidden.
So 3 questions:
1) I don't even know how the payees were hidden.
2) How do I delete the hidden payees?
3) How do you "unhide" payees? The Command-Z does NOT "unhide" the payee.
I have searched Quicken Help and online. I cannot find anything regarding the issues above.
I want to clean up my list of payees.
Thank you,
John Liel

Hidden payees:
In the Payee list, you can choose the Show Hidden checkbox at the left. This will show show the Hidden column, and you can toggle the status of hidden transactions there. That is how you unhide a payee.
Note: you can hide payee, but you can't delete them from the list. If you try to delete them, it wall automatically mark it as hidden*. That might be how some of your payees have become hidden.
* This is by design, if you were allowed to delete the payee as you could in the past, then all respective transactions using that payee would lose them. By the same token, if you make any changes to a payee in that list, all transactions using them will reflect the updated one.5
