I have 2016 quicken on my laptop - going to be upgrading to version 2019

do I need to remove 2016 before installing 2019 or will the CD ask me if I want to remove the old after I install the new version?

Sorry, but unless you have 2 Window's partitions on your PC, you can't have both installed at the same time.

In fact, the install of any newer Q product will un-install all older Q products.

BUT, the good news is that the file formats of the 2 products are identical. SO, if you dislike Q Subscription, you can simply uninstall if, reinstall QW2016 and proceed with the same Q data file.

I hope I can have both on system just in case there is issues with 2019. Once 2019 is running right I will remove 2016

There is no Data Conversion between 2016 and 2020 versions. You can go back without problems.

Microsoft Edge is not User-friendly as is Firefox and Internet Explorer.
