Printing Checks

When printing checks, everything prints fine for the exception of the wording section - for example
Twenty 50/100 *************************************************** Dollar
I can't seem to get those stars to cross near the word dollar
Below is what I get
Twenty 50/100***** Dollar
Has anyone had this problem?
Thanks
Evelyn

That change to printing only a few asterisks was introduced to Quicken for Windows somewhere around 10 years ago. And it was discussed heavily at that time, with no solution forthcoming. There might still be a few old discussions on that subject lurking about in this Community, despite their age and several Community support software conversions.
One really doesn't need to totally x-out the rest of the line and a programmer supporting this part of Quicken probably tried to take the easy way out, instead of trying to calculate the number of asterisks to add to the end of the text, based on length of text, font style and size. It's relatively easy to calculate this number when you are printing on primitive line printers at 10 characters per inch, but it gets a lot more complicated when you have to consider proportionally spaced fonts and all that.
