Is there any iteration of Quicken for MAC that includes a Home Inventory package or do I really have to spend money for someone else's program?

No current Mac version supports it. It was a very outdated, 3rd party application in the versions that did.

While it might not be as elegant as a dedicated third party tool, I suggest you consider doing your home inventory in something as simple as in a spreadsheet or word processing document.

That way, should something happen and you have to rebuild your life, your backup file will be in a common, readable format that you can open on any computer. The last thing you need when disaster strikes is trying to find a copy of some special program to read your data. Those home inventory programs aren't very common.

Obviously, keep a copy of the file offsite.
