Taxable and non-taxable Municipal investment income
Randy Fairhurst
Currently downloaded Municipal Bond transactions, regarding tax exempt income on investments from my financial institution are being recorded as tax exempt from both Federal and State income tax, when in fact, about half of my transactions are Tax Free on the Federal level but taxable on the state level. I spent 2hours on the phone with 3 technical support people telling me you can not currently do this in quicken with downloaded investment income. I was finally told that's the way the system was programed. How do I get them to fix it????? Federal tax form schedule B requires these taxes to be reported for both tax situations. Help????????????? I have to currently keep track of this manually on a separate spread sheet.
