Issue with upgrading and subscription expiration date [edited to include issue]

I upgraded my 2017 version which was good until 4/30/2020 yesterday. I also signed up for the free month for auto renewal. My new version expires 4/17/2021, it should be 5/30/2021. I called to complain, and was told too bad for me. Quicken cheated me out of a month and half.

Hello @norm98
Thank you for taking the time to share the details of this issue and your recent contact with Quicken Support, although I apologize for the negative experience.
I would like to look into the interaction with Support further, were you perhaps provided with a case number? If so, what is that number?
Quicken 2017 is still a supported product with all online services active until 4/30/2020, per our discontinuation policy (found here).
If you would like to continue using Quicken 2017 until the discontinuation date, and have already installed the Quicken 2020 (subscription) version, I would recommend uninstalling Quicken 2020 and reinstalling Quicken 2017, using the steps provided here. There is no data file conversion when moving between 2017 to 2020 so you will be able to open your existing data file and pick up exactly where you left off.
I also took the liberty of reviewing your internal profile information and can see that your subscription does show active as of 3/17/2020. I would recommend contacting Quicken Support once again to request either a refund of the purchased subscription, or that the subscription activation be delayed until 5/1/2020.
Delaying the activation would ensure that you have access to online services in Quicken 2017 until the discontinuation date and the full year of access to Quicken 2020 (subscription).
I, unfortunately, cannot make adjustments to your account and/or subscription details through the community and highly encourage you to contact Quicken Support by phone to discuss the above recommended actions.
I hope this information is helpful and please let us know how it goes with Support.
Thank you,
Sarah5
