I have an old version of quicken (2013) and I wanted to clean up and start fresh so I bought a We now can't get into the old version and can't get the new one version installed. I am a bit technically challenged. I didn't want my old to go away completely but it won't let me in at all.

How and where did you purchase Q subscription? If directly from Quicken, you need to go to quicken.com and log on to your account. From there you will see the option to download the installer app. Once downloaded, launch the installer. The rest should complete and find your existing file and load it.
