I'm a MAC user of Quicken (2020) and have an old version of Quicken (2017) I want to safely remove.

My Application folder has both Quicken and Quicken2017. I don't think I want to keep the older version around.I'm afraid to just put the 2017 version into the Trash.

If you think you might possibly need to access Quicken 2017 at some point, but don't want to risk accidentally opening the old program, you could move the Quicken 2017.app out of your Applications folder to a folder on your desktop. Then move your Quicken 2017 data file to the same folder. Then use File > Compress to make a .zip archive of the program + data, and trash the uncompressed folder containing the app and data file. (Should you ever need it in the future, you could just double-click the .zip file to turn it back into the application and data file, and drag the data file over the application to launch the old version.)Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19936
