Credit card Accounts do not show up in transaction category window

When I go to write a check to my credit card or brokerage accounts , the accounts do not show up in the transaction category window of the checking account

Are you trying to create a transfer transaction from your checking to your credit card account? 

If so, enable the Transfer field in the register (menu View > Columns) and enter the destination account there.

Alternatively, use this notation in the Category field:

Transfer:[creditcardaccoutname]
