I just installed upgrade to Version 5.16.0 (Build 516.33881.100) and it crashes

I have two files. One seems to have been corrupted by the update. When I try to create a new transaction in one of the accounts in the corrupt file, entering a tab to move out of the date field or typing anything in the check number causes a crash. This started today when I installed the update. I'm running on an older Mac running OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.16 and the mac is clean and has been rebooted.

Thank you for reaching out on the community and telling us about your issue. That is odd I wonder if the update might have missed some files. Let's try reinstalling the program to see if that is the case. In order to uninstall quicken you'll need to move the program from the applications folder to the trash. 

You can find a download for quicken can be found here so that you're able to reinstall it.
