Info on why investment accounts go out of balance

Coincidental to our earlier discussion on the problem of investment account balances changing from broker statements, I just received this article from another forum on the question of rounding.  I think it pretty well illustrates my thoughts that Q's decision to share price history across investment accounts is flawed.  

I will not get involved in any further discussion, just putting this out here to let it illustrate the point.
