How to remove negative securities balance but not change Cash balance in 401K?

How to remove negative securities balance but not change Cash balance in 401K? I am unable to see where negative securities balance is coming from specifically. This is a managed account with MANY Ins/Outs of fund transactions over the years.

If you want to determine
where
the negative balance is coming from, I suggest the first step should be to determine
when
the security balance went negative by adjusting the
As of:
date in a
Holdings
view.
Note:
To remove negative securities balance but not change Cash balance
, you may add a placeholder transaction: open the account, select
Enter transactions
and
Adjust Share Balance
in the
Enter transaction:
pull-down menu.

OK I never got to figure out why this occurred. Above zeroed me in on one specific day, but nothing there added up or got me to the -ve amount. Did Adjust Share Balance to remedy it. Resolved but still puzzled :)
