Ghosts of Long Ago Sold Securities Reappear
chipwhite935
Recently, 2 securities I sold many years ago have reappeared; one with -0.000024 shares and another with +0.000004 shares. I tried repeating the sale for the one with negative shares using "Sell All Lots," but it had no effect. I then ran Validate and Repair with "Validate File" and "Rebuild Lots" checked, but that didn't help either.

For whatever reason, negative shares require manually adjusting the last Sell transaction to make it exact. Or edit the last Sell reducing the sale by 1 share. Say OK. Then edit again and use the Sell All button. Save.

Thank you! :) Your first suggestion: "adjusting the last Sell transaction to make it exact," did the trick for both cases. For example, the one with negative shares showed xxx.000024 shares, I removed the fractional part (.000024) and now it's gone.
It doesn't explain why it happened in the first place; fuzzy math in the software perhaps? It does make me a little concerned about data integrity. Something to keep an eye on, I guess.

They recently opened up shares and pricing to 6 decimal places. Previously unseen incremental shares were no longer rounded out to zero.
