Adding Warrants in Investment account
jrodenbo
I have warrants in OXY that were issued in July 2020 that are not recognized when adding them to the investment transaction register. The new ticker symbol is OXY/WS Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to handle

a) It appears to me that for Quicken, the recognized ticker for the warrants is OXY' (not the apostrophe at the end). I added that to my security list and found prices in the $3-4 range.
b) To add such a security to your list, you will find it comes in with the Security Name = Occidental Petroleum Corp. If you already have a security in your list by that name (perhaps with the OXY ticker as the full company), you will need to change the name of that existing company to something else (Occidental Petroleum?). Then the new security will add as a new security.
c) After getting it added, you can add "Warrants" to the name of the new security and revert the name of the original, if so desired.
Neither the ticker nor the name in Quicken need to match the name and ticker used by the brokerage, but if you are downloading from a financial institution, you will need to properly associate their version of the warrants to your version in Quicken.

I chose to Add a new security in Quicken typing OXY as the possible ticker. It offered both OXY and OXY’ and one other I forget.
I’d already been through the duplicate names issue with some other security.

Thank you..on my Schwab account it was showing a ticker of OXYWS...but it wouldn't accept it to add to my account in the transaction registar nor did it come up in Morningstar...can I ask how you determined an ' after the alpha characters would work?...Thanks again...
