Last time I purchased Quicken (2010) it was a one time purchase. Now it seems it's a yearly subscription. What are the benefits of paying yearly for it besides being able to use it?

If you haven't already, you may want to review: https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-subscription-membership-faqs

The primary benefit of maintaining and active subscription is the availability of Online Services.  The primary disadvantage of not maintaining an active subscription is a banner consuming a significant portion of the Quicken window reminding you that the subscription has expired.

Do you want to upgrade to a newer version?  Like so you can download transactions?  If you are ok with using Quicken manually you can keep using 2010 or at least upgrade to 2013.  Why are you looking at getting a newer version?

You can download 2013 Deluxe for free using this how to convert article.  It’s under Converting from Quicken 2004-2009.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.
