why funny date like 0/00/1999

when trying to put in transactions it is saying enter a valid date but I get 0/00/1999

Are you manually keying it, or is it a downloaded? Suggest firstly go to Windows settings, Time &Language, then Region. What does it say in there. IT should be using Gregorian calendar. Then hit Change Date Formats. Are the settings in there as you expect?0
