Registers & Transactions (Mac)
Recently credit card transactions are coming in with right amount but the categories are scragged up
Bobwimmer
Downloaded credit card transactions are coming in with multiple categories both positive and negative which add to transaction amount. Catagores have no relation to current transaction.
This issue is new after prior Quicken update to Mac

Thanks for the info, Bobwimmer:
I suspect you are seeing QuickFill Rules renaming, and that was something that was added earlier this year. They are quite powerful, but can be confusing until you figure out what is going on. Then, you will like them.
I suggest you go into Window:Payee & Rules, and then click on the Quick Fill button at the top:
There, you will see the various QF rules. You can search for Costco, and I suspect one of them will be that a rule is splitting out your transaction based on previous activity. Explore this view.
Note the ability to set default rules and to prevent changes to the rule. I am using Wal-Mart here, but it is likely similar to Costco where I have different purchases each time. I prefer to set up a blank, uncategorized rule as the default (shown below). That way, I can deal with it as the transaction comes in.
I realize this might appear cumbersome at first, but once you get used to/understand the rules, you will like them.

Do you mean the transactions are are coming through as split transactions with random categories? If so, do the categories appear to be relevant to prior transactions?
Bobwimmer
Yes, split transactions with random categories. May be relevant to prior transactions. Example. Transaction total $14.50. Split categories A -$22.40, B -$2.80, C +$25.20 so transaction balances back to $14.50. I shop Costco a lot.
Each transaction comes in like above with different numbers. Gas purchases come in correct. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have adjusted rules as you indicated. I appreciate your time and insight.
