I am writing to post the solution to the condition. I had this faint circle appear yesterday. This circle was large and faint. It was not the account closed icon which is bolder and smaller. The account was not closed. Solution was to deactivate the transaction download in the the Account Details window, Online Services tab. Why did it happened? Not sure. If someone knows I would be interested. I sense it was somehow related to a manual download and import of the downloaded QFX file when the usual one step update failed to collect data for this particular account. I cannot reconstruct the exact actions I took between when there was no circle and when it appeared. But problem solved and if it does not happen again all is well.
