Errors and Troubleshooting (Windows)
Error messages when manually backing up
Nancy Keith
I have the same issue as jhoffman68:
I get the following three messages boxes when backing up my Quicken file. I click OK on each message box and the next message box appears.
-- Unable to close file
-- Unable to load item list file
-- Unable to re-load current file after copy
I am using Windows 10 on a brand new Lenovo all-in-one, Quicken 2020, Version R30.14, Build 27.1.30.14. This only started with this new computer.

What is the full path to the folder that contains your Quicken data file on the hard drive? Do you have Controlled Folder Access enabled in Windows Defender? Are you using OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Backup?
Nancy Keith
c:\Users\Nancy\Documents\Quicken\[file name]
I also use Carbonite in addition to manually back ups on an external hard drive
Controlled Folder Access is unchecked
One Drive is active.
BTW, thank you for your super quick reply
