Every deposit now is listed as coming from my electric company

For unknown reasons, for the past month or so, every deposit, including from my employer, is listed as coming from my utility (which of course never sends a deposit). How can I correct this, other than manually which is what I've been doing?

Look at your Renaming Rules.  One, or more, is set so generically that everything matches it.

I've never done this. When I go to Renaming, it appears to refer to payees only.

Isn't "your electric company" a Payee?  Find that entry in the Renaming Rules list and work with it.,

I've deleted it as a payee. What I can't find is how to tell Quicken that deposits (e.g., from my employer) are not payees.

But have you looked at your Renaming Rules?
