How do I record business income from a sale of an item?

How do I record business income from a sale of an item? I tried creating a Customer Invoice and the dollar amount comes up as a negative number, rather than a credit.

Have you researched this in Q HELP?Have you attached a BUSINESS type tax line to the category used by the transaction?  It's via the Tax lines that Q determines what's "business income"
