I bought Quicken deluxe today. No check number column

I bought The latest deluxe version thinking it would be quicker than using spreadsheet. Was I wrong. There is no check number column which is extremely important to me. Wasted an hour trying to research this issue with no results. Is that a standard problem? If it is I don't need this program
