Do you mean the Quicken software update and install - like with a new version of software - ie R34.24 ?

    Hi @jujee
    * If you are referring to the transaction download, you can control that from Edit menu > Preferences > Startup > Download transactions when Quicken starts [check box].
    * If you are referring to the software update version at startup of Quicken, this can be controlled thru Windows Control Panel > User Accounts.  Detailed steps:
On Windows 10 go to the lower left Windows Start Menu > Windows System > Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings > move the notification selector bar to any of the top three (but not the bottom one that says Never notify).
Doing so, when Quicken tries to perform a software update at startup, Windows will open a pop-up asking if you want to allow the program to make a change (the update).  At which time you can select No.  This is actually a very good security feature in general.
