How can I trim my data file to improve performance?

Please consider providing a feature where I can take my 10 year plus data file and create a new version with, say, only the latest five years, without losing all of my account connection information. As it stands right now, there is no option to do this without my having to recreate all of my many account connections.
I've noticed that as the file grows larger, performance is starting to lag.

IMHO it was an error to remove the functionality of File Copy which preserved online connections. Please vote for it to be restored:
