Can be done.Banking accounts: Click the Register Columns icon (near the Balance column header in your register). At the bottom of the popup list you'll see another gear icon. Click it. Select "Make all [1-line/2-line] [account type] like this". Repeat for other bank account types as needed.Investing accounts: Change between 1-line and 2-line-per-transaction registers is nearly all you can change. Go into Edit / Preferences / Investment transactions to see the changes you can make.-1

I have followed these directions and it doesn't work. When I switch accounts, it reverts to the default columns. Is there a place to change the default?

After you have set the columns for the register of one account type, you can use my instructions to copy the settings of one account register, e.g., a 1-line Checking register, to all other 1-line Checking registers in your data file.
If you need to change settings for other account types repeat the process, e.g., in a 1-line Savings register.
Quicken will remember the settings across sessions. If that doesn't work for you or if you run into problems, please provide more details. Screen image snapshots might be helpful to determine the nature of the problem.
