Downloaded transaction naming
robgilm
My credit union has started naming all of my downloaded transactions "Withdrawal Consumer Debit / Withdrawal CONSUMER DEBIT (actual payee) (date)" resulting in every transaction being named "Consumer Debit" when it's accepted unless I manually edit them. Is there any way to set ignore words for the downloaded transaction payee names? I've tried using renaming rules but I think the name is so long that it doesn't even see the actual payee name.

Make sure that you do not have a Renaming Rule named "Consumer Debit".
Manually review, change and then accept each downloaded transaction. With all Preference settings for Data Entry & Quickfill and Downloaded Transactions enabled, Quicken should be able to remember your changes and build its own set of renaming rules.
Complain to your credit union's upper management. Make them change their programming to send
"(actual payee) (date)" as payee name and
"Withdrawal ..." as part of the Memo text.
