I am doing a tax summary report and want to delete some items, but I don't want them deleted from the register. Is this possible or is there a way round this?

What you can try is going to the report options and play with various settings to attempt to filter them out of the report.  For example, if they are all to one payee you could filter out that payee or if all in one category you can filter that out.

Another approach would be to create a tag, called say "Exclude this item", and tag the transactions you want excluded.  Then customize the report and uncheck the "exclude this item" tag.

Yet another approach would be to change the transactions from a taxable category to another non-taxable category.

I guess the point is that there is more than one way to skin the cat.  Depending on your situation you can pick what works best for you
