How to export to Excel or PDF
Betty Means
I would like to export my list of accounts and categories to an Excel or PDF. Is it possible?

Yes. Use the tiny printer icon at the bottom left of each of those lists. You'll see options to export and you can print to a PDF "printer".

This brings up another of the strange design decisions that have been made along the way. I know, I'm still using QW2014, but you all know why.
Regardless, when you ask to export to QIF, among the options are things like Accounts and Categories, etc. OK, so I select ONLY Categories and do the export.
When I open the QIF file, what do I find? Quicken, in all it's vast wisdom, has included all my accounts also in the export. Now, I can MAYBE understand the need to include accounts for TRANSACTIONS, but it makes no sense whatever to includes Accounts with a Categories export.
I'm exporting to another application, actually a database system, and have 28 years of QIF files that I want to import there. I guess I have two options, either manually edit each of the annual QIF files to delete the account section, or write logic in the database import process to look for and ignore all the Account data in all 28 files.
