How to create a bar graph of selected categories by quarter across years

I want to see the cost of groceries for one decade by quarter

I suggest using a customized Spending by Category graph: select Reports > Graphs > Spending by Category and select Quarter in the Column: pull-down menu.  You may also set the date range and the specific categories of the transactions you wish to include: press Alt + C.

Thanks for your quick response, but, while I can get to Spending by Category, the drop down menu does not have “Quarterly.” It allows be to set the custom dates which is a decade. I can locate the category but I only end up with an aggregate amount in the shape of a circle rather than a bar graph by quarter over a decade
