Thank you for choosing to come to the community with your question.
So to add a security, you would select the brokerage account that houses the security from the list on the left of your Quicken software. Once the account register is open, you will you the blank transaction at the very bottom or very top of your account register (depending on direction). When you double-click on the blank transaction it will open a box (picture below).
If these are the first shares you are adding for this security you will make this a "Buy- Shares Bought" transaction. You can then fill out all the fields including the Security name.
