Trying to restore a backup, password required but "forgot password" not working

I'm trying to restore a backup, it asks for a password. I did not add a password so I tried to use the forgot password option, nothing happens. What now?

Hi @kaybennett,
Can you tell us: a) where you've been backing up to, and b) why you were trying to restore from a backup? Are you backing up to a local drive or offline using OneDrive, or something similar? How often have you been backing up?
Based on the little bit of information you provided so far, it sounds like the backup file you are trying to restore may be corrupted. The fact that you are being asked to provide a password, when you had not setup a password on the backup file, suggests data corruption.
Get back to us and we'll go from there.
