Using a Bank Account with Two Cards Help

My wife and I share accounts that contain two difference cards and when I download the transactions, the last 4 digits of each card number is reference at the end of the Payee Name.
What is the best way to categorize or otherwise report the spending between the two cards being used against the accounts?
I tried to use tags but the reporting for tags is nothing like the standard categories. Trying to find a way in which I can put a "parent" tag so I can report separately for each card. I also have double categories but the reporting gets nasty when your trying to split the spending habits.
