New year - new account?
karkrohn
This is my year to get organized. I have not optimized Quicken properly - mainly as a check register and to print checks. If I want to set up categories, etc. for budgeting and tracking purposes would you advise setting up a new account for 2022? Thank you.

If the balances in your checking account are correct, i.e. the account reconciles, there should be no reason to start a new account, When setting up categories, you should spend some time thinking about what categories make sense for you. I do not find Quicken's default spending categories particularly useful or well organized.
Once you do set up Categories, you should be sure to use them consistently.
