How to delete Quicken assigned categories?

    Go to Tools > Category list.
    If you want to take advantage of Quicken's auto-categorization, it is better to rename the default categories rather than deleting them.
    To change the name, right click on a category you want to rename and pick Edit.
    You can select Hide for any categories you do not use.
