How do I enter a manual loan payment and record the principal and interest paid?

It seems to me that you would enter the transaction in the bank register that you are paying out of and when you get to the the Category column choose split at the bottom of the Category. this will open up a new entry window where you can enter different categories and amounts for the transaction. If you have the loan set up in Quicken you can assign the principle to that account and assign the amount of interest to your the expense category for interest.Danny
