Can I download transactions from a single investment account and transfer it to another file?

I not familiar with the names. Maybe I should have said I want to move an account from one register to another. Is that possible.

If you want to move transactions from one investment account register to another investment account register in the same Quicken file, open the source register, press Ctrl + Shift + N, and select Move Transactions

That method transfers the whole file, I just want to transfer one account. The second response helped but I could not transfer it to another holding in another file.

That method does not transfer the whole file. 

When we select File > File Export > QIF File..., we may select one account in the Quicken account to export from pull-down menu.
