credit card balance issue

After reconciling last month, I did not choose to write the check to my checking account because I wanted to add an amount to show payment on a new computer. What I found was that it left the cleared amount in the balance column and just continued added onto the balance showing an untrue balance. I thought perhaps I could by date put in a corrected balance but no available option. Now this month I had hoped in reconcile I could deal with that cleared amount; however, it has inflated the cleared & balance and gives a great difference. Would the easiest way, just start a new credit card account?
