I’m having same printer (Brother L2393DW) problem where only 1 of 3 checks can be aligned. How does that happen after 20+ years.

Here is a work around.
Print one check at a time. Make certain first check is aligned, then click print first check for each check you wish to print. Not elegant but it is what I have been using for the past year since the problem started (and has not been fixed.)

Is it possible that your printer driver, as installed during Windows installation, isn't up to date? Check the printer manufacturer's website to see if there are any updates.
Do make sure that the system settings (printer properties) for this printer default to letter size paper (8.5*11"), 100% size (no magnification, no reduction, no auto-detect paper size).
