Trying to access data on new computer but it said I haven't synced accounts yet

I'm trying to gain access to my account on a new computer and it says I can't because I haven't synced accounts yet. But I swear I've accessed the data using the app and online. Is there no way to get the information without my old computer? I need a backup file for tax purposes and don't have that older computer with me.

The "Web/Mobile" data isn't "stand alone". You need to be opening the Quicken data file from the old computer on the new computer (It is the .QDF file).

Hi. I'm a layman here so can you please explain using steps. I opened quickens and it said that my information wasn't synced so I didn't have access to any files at all. It wouldn't give me any information. Even the chat help said I had to use my old computer.0

You need to install/run Quicken Desktop, and you will need your Quicken data file from the old machine or a backup.
How do I move/transfer my Quicken data file from one computer to another?

This is my issue, I don't have the backup with me, or any files. So, does this mean I can't access the documents, unless I always carry the same computer around with me?0

Maybe I haven't been syncing quickens on the web correctly when I back up the files? I swore we could access this information anywhere. I need it and I guess I'm out of luck until I can get to my older computer????0

One more thing, sorry! Why can I get what appears to be updated information in the quickens app on my phone but not on a new computer?0

One question I have for you, are you using the same Quicken Id that you used for the data file on your old machine?
The Quicken Id ties the Quicken data file and Quicken Cloud together (Quicken Web and Quicken mobile are the "GUIs" to display the data in the Quicken Cloud dataset).
In theory, what is on Quicken Web/Quicken Cloud should be what it was when you lasted synced from that data file/Quicken Id, plus the Quicken Cloud can download transactions from the financial institutions. It isn't a substitute for the Quicken Desktop data file, but it shouldn't "vanish" just because the old machine went away.
So, it is a bit of a mystery why it is showing no sync at all.
Long term even if you get back to the Quicken Id/account that was synced, Quicken Web/Quicken Cloud can't be used forever like that, but it should still have been available for say looking at the reports and transactions. Long term you have to start a Quicken Desktop data file.

Thank you. I think I found what you were talking about. However the information is there but old. There is money listed that I know has been spent which means the account is not syncing properly even though the data is now there. But it’s also just letting me see it and I can’t actually download it or create a back up file. I’m going to try to call on Tuesday when they open again. I didn’t know it was this hard. I’m thinking about buying another product and getting rid of Quicken‘s0

Like it says the article the Quicken Cloud/Web/Mobile isn't a backup. About the only thing you can do is export transactions in CSV format.Signature:
