Citi CC-592 error and work-around

It is truly upsetting that Quicken has been claiming to be working on the problem of failing to download for months, when it is unlikely that they have been doing anything. I posted over two months ago as to the nature of the problem and a work-around. The problem is two step authorization (which one should use on your bank accounts). The work-around is to temporarily turn it off at the Citi site, then update Quicken, then reactivate two step authentication. I am willing to bet that the problem is on Quicken's end. It used to be that with Quicken it would ask me to provide the second step authentication (sent text and then ender code) but it no longer does that, and you end up with the error message. Probably time to see whether there is a substitute for Quicken.
