How do I global replace a payment?

When I use the global replace function to change a figure in the "Payment" column, Quicken turns it into a figure in the "Deposit" column instead. Is it possible to do a global replace in the "Payment" column?

I figured out that the amount must be entered as a negative number, with a minus sign before it. Posting solution here as Quicken support advised me there's no way to do it.0

@frankmoher - it depends on what type of account you are searching on, but for a checking account for example, I think you would need to search for a negative number for any number that would be in the "payment" column.0
