Why Does Quicken Confuse Two Securities When Downloading?

When I download transactions into my Quicken account from Merrill Lynch, Quicken continually mistakes two different securities, notifying me that holdings in Quicken do not match the holdings reported by Merrill Lynch. Every time I download transactions, Quicken confuses IShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) with IShares Nasdaq Biotechnology ETF (IBB). Quicken claims that the shares reported by Merrill are IVV but I only own IBB in my Merrill account. At one time, I did own shares of IVV but no longer. I keep removing the shares in my Quicken account. How should I resolve?

You can do that too.  If you buy IVV again you'd re-match it.

Do Tools > Security List then open the Security Detail View for IBB and click on "Edit Details."  Clear the box next to "Matched with online security."  The next time you download information from ML you will get the opportunity to correctly match the security.

Thanks Tom. Should I also 'unmatch' IVV in Security Detail View?
