Can't access data file and 'forgot password' doesn't do anything.

Today when I opened quicken I was asked to enter my data file password, this is the first time this has happened since I created a new data file in 2018. Both of the possible passwords I have noted do not work and 'forgot password' does nothing. I am at a loss. I hate to start over again.

Are you sure you were asked for your data file password and not the Quicken ID and password?Did you read and follow instructions here? https://www.quicken.com/support/im-having-password-problems-quicken-windows
