Release R43.20 Broke Things

Since updating to R43.20 this morning -- it was pushed at me -- some things appear to be broken. Most notably, after doing a one-step update to my bank, the online balances are not updated, and new downloaded transactions cannot be reconciled. It says there are no uncleared transactions to reconcile.

I updated to R43.20, now investments do not update.

Updated to R43.20 and control key functions do not work: for example Control D, Control R, Control X . Some awkward work arounds do work: Menu tools has reconciliation (normally Control D) allows reconciliation, but Control D and Control X are more problematical.
Got downloading to work after restoring a 5 day old file.0 -
As a follow-up to my original post... it appears that Quicken is not updating the Online Balances for the downloaded accounts. The displayed online balances are not up to date and the reconciliation function is using the old balances. I checked the most recent log file and the values for the online balances in the log are correct, but they are apparently not being used correctly by the update.0

Good thing I have a backup system. After experiencing this issue, I ran OSU on my non-updated backup system and it worked.0

Quicken installed (itself) R 43.20 and now I have all sorts of problems. One investment account was moved to "Banking" with garbled entrees. Several accounts will not show transactions but only show a 2x2 window screen of various performance measures. I did Validate, SuperValidate in R43.20 but that changed nothing. I then restored my last back up from 8/15/2022 but the Quicken version is still R43.20 and all the problems are still there. Is there a way to go back to a previous version of Quicken? [Removed - Rant]0

I just updated to R43.26 and it didn't fix any of my problems since R43.20. I also would like a way to revert back to the previous version before R43.20.0

Note that usually when these things happen there are usually two possible reasons. One is that the install failed in some way and didn't get properly installed, (corrupted program files). This can be fixed by installing the older version, but it can also by just installing the latest Mondo install:
Update and Mondo Patch: Subscription Release of Quicken for Windows
The second thing that might happen is that the data file itself gets corrupted, and no reinstalling of the program is going to fix it. The best thing to do for this case is restore from a backup before the problem happened.Signature:

I first did a Validate. When that did nothing, I did a Supervalidate but that did nothing to change the situation. In all cases, they found no errors. I then restored a previous backup made before R 43.20 installed itself. Since I'm still running R43.20, however, I got once again EXACTLY the same unfortunate situation. Should I install a previous Mondo patch ? I don't know what version I had before which worked but believe I last updated my file correctly on 8/15/22, before R43.20 installed itself on 9/13/22. Why isn't Quicken having an all-hands-on-deck effort to get this working for all the users who now can't use it?
(Maybe the real question is why does Quicken release completely buggy software ?)0 -
@Jeff Weiss you can certainly try installing the manual/Mondo patch install, it won't hurt anything.
If you haven't already I suggest you contact Quicken support and see if they can figure out a solution for you:

I too experienced the disappearing budget. I literally was just working on it and it disappeared. I can't open a Current Budget report as there is no budget. Using R43.20 Build 27.1.43.20. Grrr0

As my backup system worked, on R43.14, I installed the mondo patch for that on my main system. As no Q representative has commented on this thread, I'll wait a month or so before trying to upgrade again. I'm not going to continue to waste my time with bad upgrades.1

I did the same thing and everything is good with R43.14. I'm also declining updates for a while.0 -
My personal approach has been to not update the Q program once I find a release that works me and stay on it as long as it works - for a full year etc. Then I read the community posts to determine which release users are quiet about and update to that one.Other suggestions:When you decide to update, temporarily disable/pause your Antivirus program during the update process.Update manually using the Manual Mondo Patch Update process, instead of allowing the program to self-update.If you don't use Mobile & Web much or at all, disable the Cloud Sync in Preferences as that feature tends to cause data issues based on historical experiences and posts on this community.- QWin Deluxe user since 2010, US subscription on Win11

Just lost my budget for the first time. Very, very aggravating. I do not understand how Quicken can allow this to happen.0
