Treasury Bill Accounting (Mac Subscription)

I purchased a treasury bill and manually entered it as a "Buy Bond" transaction. My investing account balance, thus net worth, did not reflect said transaction. I tried, to no avail, to find a way to change the accounting method to cash basis, in hopes that it would solve the issue. I eventually changed the transaction type to "Add Share" and it is now included in the investing account balance, thus net worth. Is this the best way to account for such a transaction?
